EFG London Jazz Festival 2025 presents Tina Carr Trio

An intimate evening of words and tunes – some old, some new, some borrowed, some just blue

Tina Carr – vocals
Tina has her own take and sings from experience, captivating audiences with her torchy
voice and a warm, authentic jazz vibe that is unique and moving. Her debut album ‘Songs for Curly’ was released in 2023, BBC Radio London’s Jumoke Fashola hailing it as “ a very distinctive voice, a stunning debut”. Her second album “Moon Over Mildmay” is coming out early next year. Having left a professional life working with freelance journalists, Tina has played in London at Green Note, Karamel N22, Toulouse Lautrec, Vortex, Piano Smithfield; Max Klub in Slovenia, Jazz Café Alto in Amsterdam. She has performed two years of sell-out headline shows in the EFG London Jazz Festival at the Actors Church in Covent Garden (2023) and Hoxton Hall (2024). London-based, Tina is very happy to return to the Puppet Theatre Barge ."I really enjoy playing small, intimate gigs in off-beat places, so this year I'm doing something different - and this is it!"

Sam Braysher – Alto Saxophone
Sam is attracting growing attention on the British jazz scene for his warm, distinctive sound,
and an approach to improvisation that combines melodic beauty and rhythmic deftness.
Sam grew up in Norfolk, and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he
was a Chartered Surveyors’ Prize winner and an Artist Fellow. He has received international
critical acclaim for his three albums to date and has played across Europe. Collaborative
projects include REBOP (an international quintet with Jorge Rossy on vibraphone) a co-led
quartet with Amsterdam guitarist Linus Eppinger; and Mighty Like the Blues (with Pete
Horsfall, Jim Mullen, Shane Forbes and Mike Gorman). Sam takes a particular interest in
interpreting lesser-played items from the American Songbook and jazz canon.
