Live Talk Show

Teatro Lambe Lambe by Fagner Gastaldon

Join us to explore the fascinating world of Teatro Lambe Lambe, the Brazilian form of
miniature puppet theatre performed for one spectator at a time.
This special talk forms part of the Canalside Puppet Making Course, taught by Fagner
Gastaldon of PuppetSoup, a puppeteer originally from Brazil who has been teaching and performing this form of puppetry for over twenty years.

The event will include a special live video conference with Denise Di Santos, who alongside Ismine Lima created and named this form of theatre, in Brazil in the 1980’s.

This unique art form has grown into a worldwide movement of intimate, poetic puppet
theatre, and this event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the creators of this remarkable theatrical tradition, alongside one of the first Teatro Lambe Lambe performers to bring the artform to the UK.
Through images, short videos, and examples of performances, the talk will explore the
history and cultural heritage of Lambe Lambe Theatre.
This is an evening that all adults are welcome to attend.
The Puppet Theatre Barge are collaborating with Fagner Gastaldon to run events related to The Canalside Puppet Making Course, including a special Lambe Lambe Puppet Festival day on 14th June.
